Preparing Patients With Confidence

Our Story

Three doctors were sitting by the water's edge, dreaming of how they could help their patients better prepare for procedures. Without trusted information on the internet and with very little information in each patient's own language, patients were missing appointments and coming unprepared for surgical procedures. They quickly sought out a professional Medical Illustrator (who happened to be a friend from their medical school class), and created a secure platform for sharing their new educational content. Experts from around the world created and translated videos and handouts to ensure accuracy. A network was created for healthcare professionals to share their content with each other. They look forward to having you join their community!

Dr. Evan Propst

Founder & CEO

Evan is a Pediatric Otolaryngologist - Head & Neck Surgeon and Full Professor at a large pediatric academic hospital. He has authored over 170 journal articles and numerous book chapters and books. His experience as an educator stems from being Residency and Fellowship Site Director, and from organizing continuing medical education courses. He is also President of AweSim Medical Corp., which makes realistic models for surgical training.

Roula Drossis

Founder & Chief Innovation Officer

Roula is a professional Medical Illustrator with over 25 years of experience, completing an honors degree in Immunology and a Master’s Degree in Medical Illustration. She is passionate about using storytelling, animation, and innovative technology to communicate science and medicine, and has a vast experience in the fields of patient education and sales force training.

Dr. Jamie Newman

Founder & Chief Management Officer

Jamie is a Gastroenterologist and Internal Medicine physician. He is the Head of Gastroenterology, the Service Medical Director of Endoscopy, and has served as President of the Medical Staff and Member of the Board of Directors at a large teaching hospital. Having served as the course coordinator for a medical school, he brings a vast experience in healthcare education. As the CEO of Vector Health Clinics, and President of LOC Canada Ltd. (a loyalty card reward program that offers social media space to maximize consumer-retailer interactions), he brings business experience in the online forum.

Dr. Mick Marcus

Founder & Chief Medical Officer

Mick is a specialist in Occupational Medicine, Addiction Medicine, and Tropical Disease. He is the founder and Chief Medical Officer of Vector Health Clinics, a consulting practice to employers and insurance companies, Medical Director for numerous companies ranging from health care to aviation, Faculty at the University of Ottawa as Work Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) Champion, Chief Examiner for Occupational Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and the founder and CEO of MD Exit Strategy, a web-based company that links physicians to business and investment opportunities.
